Hey all. Well, I just really want to say, Vampires rock my sox! They're so awesome. Whether they're in books or movies, their cool. Well, I found this game on the net where you're a vampire and you get points for biting people and siring new vampires. You get spells and potions and stuff. It's pretty fun. And it's actually pretty accessible! yayyyy! the site is: http://quiz.ravenblack.net/blood.pl?biter=Nallym. Enjoy!

I wasn't going to answer this because the slang was annoying. But Vamps excite me also and for a while I was a member of a group but they were rather too exploitative so I left

"

Vampires are not naturally co-operative creatures. It's not in their nature. Every other vampire is a rival for the next meal. In fact, the ideal situation
for a vampire is a world in which every other vampire has been killed off and no one seriously believes in vampires any more. They are by nature as co-operative
as sharks.

Vampyres are just the same, the only real difference being that they can't spell correctly.

Such a strange type of existance really, would you really want to walk around forever, avoiding day light and sucking people's blood, it's not as if the blood really tastes good, well at least I don't think so ;) medium rare is good enough for me, raw is a bit .. well overboard in my opinion.

I suppose the ideal job for a vampire would be as a doctor in the blood transfusion department of a hospital. Imagine: it could be like some kind of pub, couldn't it? 'A pint of my usual o+ please landlord, and by the way, give us a clean glass this time eh? so clean I could see my face in it'.

Lol. Indeed it's a lonly existance, and it would really be not so good to be one for eternity, but the myths and legends surrounding them are quite good. But working in a blood transfussion place?? I think the vamp would go quite mad after a while. I mean, they'd have all that blood there, but, obviously, they wouldn't be able to feast on all of it. This is assuming that they have values for humans, which usually they dont.

Well, not quite the reaction I was hoping for to my amusing jokes about vampires. I didn't expect them to be taken seriously. Makes you wonder though, when Dracula came over here was he an illegal immigrant? or was he an Asylum seeker?

LL, I wouldn't know but I do suspect he was a "bloody" bastard

Nothing nicer than a rare steak in my opinion, and not through the heart hahahaha!...Anyone else sleep in a coffin at night, or in the day even? Apart from Gobby of course. Frey.

I wonder if dracula was partial to a bit of black pudding.

Wildebrew did you quote that from Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire it sounds familiar.

Goblin, close, I should've included the source ;) wouldn't want to be caught plagerizing. :) This is from "Carpe Jukelem" by Terry Pratchett (translates roughly as "go for the throat").
I'm going to add some more quotes, his views on vampires and the vampire culture are highly amusing and actually pretty interesting. :)
cheers

LL I believe he enjoyed it for breakfast every night along with a large glass of bloody Mary eh? Frey.

Post 14 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 17-Dec-2004 11:26:00

He'd probably have been quite keen on the liquid refreshment on offer at the last supper as well: 'Take this, all of you and drink from it. this is the cup of my blood' etc. Oh dear Lawlord you've probably offended the Christian fundamentalists now you stupid fool!

Post 15 by wildebrew (We promised the world we'd tame it, what were we hoping for?) on Friday, 17-Dec-2004 12:35:50

LL, it would've been a risky plessure since vampires can be killed using religious symbols (religious with an "i" even) so if the blood also has a relegious meaning it might be poisoned plenty for the poor sod and would probably kill him .. as much as you can "kill" a vampire.

Post 16 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 17-Dec-2004 13:06:48

What a beautiful irony in your last typo old lad! You pointed out that religious does indeed have an I where you used to put an E, then you lapse back into your old ways with your egregious relegious misspelling. And vampires are not dead, but undead. the only way you can kill them is by driving a stake through their hearts I think. You can only sterilise their hide-outs with sacred or religious symbols. But don't worry, there aren't that many vampires left now I don't think.

Post 17 by wildebrew (We promised the world we'd tame it, what were we hoping for?) on Friday, 17-Dec-2004 13:50:37

indeed I have become the very definition of complacency, have I not.
Well, garlic works as a protection and holy water, I believe it is as effective as stakes at killing vampires but wholy water has the disadvantage of being useless against "normal" peope where as stake through the heart works on most life forms, which can be a plus in some circumstances I am told.

Indeed, steak works well to warm the hearts of most people, with chips, onion rings, mushrooms, tomatoes, peas and good old English mustard rather than that American or french nonsense that's too mild.

Post 19 by rainbowfairy (Account disabled) on Friday, 17-Dec-2004 22:40:53

Lol Indeed it does. Now that's made me think, how WOULD a vampire react to steak? (The food one...) Quite interesting. I can picture it now... Just when you're about to be pierced by the fangs, offer it some well-done steak, and, lo and behold, he now prefers regular food!

Post 20 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 18-Dec-2004 5:54:40

I think that's pretty unlikely though.

Post 21 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Saturday, 18-Dec-2004 9:23:43

Vlad Dracula was in fact the last of the Boyards a race of feudal lords who kept order in Transylvania and to whom, the peasant's paid taxes ect in return for having their lands protected..And Vlad Tepes {Dracula was NOT a vampire Bram Stoker created that myth for his novel without even setting foot in Transylvania.
............................................................
Dracula means Son of the Devil or Dragon..and was passed on to him by his father, Vlad Tepes was a member of a sect The Order of the Dragon which practised black magic ect their insignia was a dragon or Dracul.

What a load of generalisational crap! Garlic crosses sunlight when will people broaden their horizons concerning vampires, there are groups of teenage runaways in the US who have taken to the Vampire lifestyle in doing so

............................................................
their aging process has slowed they become ill less often despite having no access to health care and they have NOT as yet suffered from HIV and /or AIDs they cannot tolerate strong sunlight and believe that their physiology has altered.

now whether this is down to psychosymatic factors or is indeed the truth no one can say, as they do not tolerate strangers invading their way of life.

So there are more than 1 kind of vampires and not all of them drink blood some drain your energy and they are much more common after all its safer ...I should know.
